The Philosophy Department offers programs of advanced coursework and individual research leading to the MA and the PhD degrees. Our programs allow students latitude in pursuing their interests, but are designed to emphasize the Department’s principal areas of strength.
The graduate programs at UGA are flexible and provide you with a strong basis for a career in academia or outside of it. Recent graduates have tenure track or permanent jobs at a range of places including the University of North Georgia, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Concordia College, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Clayton State University, and Georgia College and State University. Outside of academia, our graduates work in consulting, the Law School Admissions Council, charitable organizations, and with their own start-ups.”
